先日行われた(id:NyaRuRu:20050116#p2) Chat の transcript が公開されています．実は私もちょこっと Managed DirectX (MDX) のバージョニングについて質問していたんですが……

Q: I think whenever Managed DirectX assemblies change, the version number should increase. But there are some bug-fixed version assemblies they didn't change there version number. Why MDX doesn't use "Redirecting Assembly Versions" with Publisher Policy?

A: This was the most logical choice given the way our setup works, and lowers the possibility of leaving a 'buggy' version of the DLL on the system.

というわけで，Publisher Policy 使ってバージョンリダイレクトしてくれという案はあっさり却下されてしまいました．
関連ネタとしてはやっぱり MS04-028 で GDIPlus.dll が大あわてだった昨年秋の一件 (id:NyaRuRu:20040924#p2) でしょうかね．バージョンで変化を付けてもらわないことには，「バグ有り版」を簡単に見つけることすら出来ないわけで，「バージョンを上げる」は優先度高いと思うんですけどねぇ．修正版をインストールする段階で不具合版をアンインストールしてもいいわけですし．というわけでもうちょいプッシュしてみます．はい．
